A PORTFOLIO OF 42 hotels in the UK in the administration FALLS
The holding of 42 Marriott-operated hotels in the UK went into administration. Receivers were brought in to take control of the portfolio, which includes about 8000 pieces, after the Royal Bank of Scotland was unable to restructure £ 700 000 000 debt with the owners of hotels. The portfolio, which originally included 47 hotels, was acquired in 2007 for £ 1.1 billion private equity firm Quinlan Private, Israel-based Delek Real Estate and Israeli Igal Ahouvi investors.The hotels will continue to be operated as normal by Marriott, which has management agreements with the age of 30 properties. A Marriott spokesman noted that the operation of the hotel is "fully affected by such actions as any subsequent sale to a new ownership group."
