ANDALUSIA TOURISM BOOST
Minister of Tourism, Trade and Sport for Andalusia, Luciano Alonso said he was "optimistic" of a summer well ahead of the start of the season. It comes as reports estimate that the region in July, August and September there is an expected increase in the number of overnight stays by 2.5% and 3%, which represents about 400,000 stays longer, between 395 000 and 474 000 - compared to summer 2010, when there were 15.8 million passengers.
This increase means an improvement over recent years and is a way to confirm "the market recovery" after the recent decline in the number of tourists, mainly from Britain and Germany because of the economic crisis.
